I’m always experimenting with new liquors and mixers, and peanut butter whiskey has become my go-to special flavour when I’m creating unique cocktails. There’s a rich, nutty flavour with a touch of peanut butter added to classic cocktails that can’t be beat.

But there are a few more creative cocktails in this list as well. You might be surprised to find that you have a favourite peanut butter whiskey cocktail.

Last week I shared one of my favorite cookie recipes that would pair perfectly with these cocktails. These recipes are my absolute favorites and I make them year-round.

1. Peanut Butter Whiskey Old Fashioned

P + B = WoW! Whenever I’m in the mood for something a little different than plain whiskey, peanut butter whiskey is my secret go-to ingredient.

Simple – with some bitters, some simple syrup and a slice of orange zest – and it’s instant mind blow. I encourage you to try it tonight and have possibly the best cocktail of your life.

 Ingredients

  • 2 oz peanut butter whiskey
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange peel (for garnish)
  • Maraschino cherry (for garnish)

Instructions

1. In an old-fashioned glass, add the simple syrup and bitters.

2. Add ice cubes to the glass, filling it about halfway.

3. Pour the peanut butter whiskey over the ice.

4. Stir the mixture gently for 20-30 seconds to chill and dilute slightly.

5. Squeeze the oil from the orange peel over the glass, then drop the peel in.

6. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and serve immediately.

2. Peanut Butter Whiskey Martini

I like this combination of flavors: peanut butter whiskey, chocolate liqueur and cream make a creamy sweetish tipulent cocktail that I usually garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder on top.

 Ingredients

  • 2 oz peanut butter whiskey
  • 1 oz chocolate liqueur
  • 1 oz cream or half-and-half
  • Ice cubes
  • Chocolate syrup (for garnish)
  • Crushed peanuts (for garnish)

 Instructions

1. Chill a martini glass by rimming the edge with chocolate syrup and dipping the rim in crushed peanuts.

2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.

3. Pour the peanut butter whiskey, chocolate liqueur, and cream into the shaker.

4. Shake well until thoroughly chilled and combined.

5. Strain the mixture into the prepared martini glass.

6. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Believe it or not, here’s my newest peanut-butter pick-me-up breakfast shake recipe: Take some peanut butters, smash them together, and then sprinkle on some whiskey and coffee. You know, just mix them all together, messy as hell.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hot brewed coffee
  • 1.5 oz peanut butter whiskey

  • 1 tbsp creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • Whipped cream for garnish (optional)
  • Chopped peanuts for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Brew a strong hot cup of coffee and pour it into a large mug.

2. Add the peanut butter whiskey to the hot coffee and stir well.

3. Microwave the creamy peanut butter in a ramekin for about 15-20 seconds or until it is just melted.

4. Stir the melted peanut butter into the coffee mixture until fully combined.

5. Add the heavy cream and sugar (if using), stirring until well mixed.

6. Top with whipped cream and chopped peanuts if desired, and serve immediately.

4. Peanut Butter & Jelly Shot

I love peanut butter and jelly (PBUJ) shots. I make my version with raspberry liqueur, though cherries, strawberries, or even chocolate and peanut butter would work as well.

My friends all love it, and it makes me happy to see.

Ingredients

1 oz peanut butter whiskey
1 oz raspberry liqueur
0.5 oz cranberry juice
Ice cubes

Instructions

1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.

2. Pour 1 oz of peanut butter whiskey into the shaker.

3. Add 1 oz of raspberry liqueur.

4. Pour in 0.5 oz of cranberry juice.

5. Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

6. Strain the mixture into a shot glass and serve immediately.

5. Spiked Peanut Butter Mocha

I like to spice up my ordinary cup of coffee by creating a luxe mocha flavor with the help of chocolate, espresso, and peanut butter, laced with a splash of liqueur. This drink uses lush peanut butter, cocoa powder.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz peanut butter whiskey
  • 1 oz espresso or strong brewed coffee
  • 1 cup milk or milk alternative
  • 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • Whipped cream (optional for garnish)
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (optional for garnish)

 Instructions

1. Put the milk in a small saucepan and gently warm over medium-low heat until warm but not boiling.

2. Stir in the peanut butter and chocolate syrup until thoroughly blended and smooth.

3. Brew your espresso or strong coffee and pour it into a large mug.

4. Add the peanut butter whiskey to the mug and stir well.

5. Pour into the mug, stir well. Warm peanut butter chocolate milk, hooray.

6. Optional: Top with whipped cream and shaved chocolate or a dusting of cocoa powder. Serve immediately and indulge.

I can’t get enough of the one-and-only cocktail. The ingredient list is simple: peanut butter, a splash of whiskey, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a small amount of simple syrup.

There is no question that creaminess is a winning characteristic, and this drink has it in spades. However, what really makes this drink sing is the creative combination of flavors.

 Ingredients

2 oz peanut butter whiskey
1 oz fresh lemon juice
0.5 oz simple syrup
1 egg white (optional, for a frothy texture)
Ice
Lemon twist or peanut garnish (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Shake peanut butter whiskey, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup (if using) and a raw egg white (if using) with ice in a cocktail shaker.

2. Shake without ice (‘dry shaking’, if you will) for 15 seconds to emulsify the egg white.

3. Add ice to the shaker and shake again until well-chilled.

4. Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with ice.

5. Garnish with a lemon twist or a small piece of peanut. Serve immediately.

7. Peanut Butter Alexander

  • 2 oz Peanut Butter Whiskey
  • 1 oz Crème de Cacao (Brown)
  • 1 oz Heavy Cream
  • Ice cubes
  • Grated nutmeg (for garnish)
  • Peanut Butter (optional, for rimming the glass)

Instructions

1. Optionally, use your finger to swipe a little peanut butter around the rim of your chilled cocktail glass.

2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.

3. Pour the Peanut Butter Whiskey, Crème de Cacao, and Heavy Cream in the shaker.

4. Shake well until the mixture is thoroughly chilled and blended.

5. Strain the mixture into the prepared cocktail glass.

6. Garnish with a sprinkle of grated nutmeg on top. Serve immediately.

It’s good for cold nights, or for sharing with friends. This version has the luxe factor dialled up to 11, with rich hot chocolate, robust peanut butter, and a swirl of smooth PB whiskey, all topped with wisps of whipped cream and a scattering of cocoa powder.

Dust with cocoa powder.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter whiskey
  • Whipped cream (for topping, optional)
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

1.Combine the milk and heavy cream in a medium saucepan and bring to a low simmer over a medium heat. Do not let the mixture boil.

2. Put the peanut butter, chocolate chips and sugar into the saucepan and stir on a medium heat, until the peanut butter and chocolate are melted and amalgamated.

3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

4. Add the peanut butter whiskey to the mixture and stir until well combined.

5. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream, if desired.

In the mood for something decadent and unexpected? Mix peanut butter, vanilla ice cream and a bit of PB whiskey (for a grown-up kick, of course) and then glass a little chocolate syrup and a sprinkle of sea salt.

Trust me, the result is magical.

  • 2 oz peanut butter whiskey
  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • Whipped cream (optional, for topping)
  • Crushed peanuts (optional, for garnish)
  • Chocolate shavings (optional, for garnish)

 Instructions

1.Add the peanut butter whiskey, vanilla ice cream, milk, creamy peanut butter and chocolate syrup to a blender.

2. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

3. Pour the milkshake into a chilled glass.

4. If desired, top with whipped cream.

5. Sprinkle crushed peanuts and chocolate shavings on top for garnish.

When I first came across it, I was instantly intrigued. A cocktail made with coconut and pineapple juice is surely an unusual combination, but the addition of peanut butter whiskey makes it sound like the perfect grown-­up version of a PBJs and jellys dessert.

Pour it into a glass with some ice and a drizzle of honey and it’s a love at first sip kind of concoction that is a surefire winner for any summer evening.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz peanut butter whiskey

  • 1 oz coconut cream
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 0.5 oz lime juice
  • 1 cup ice
  • Pineapple slice and maraschino cherry for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peanut butter whiskey with coconut cream, pineapple juice, lime juice, and ice in the blender.

2. Blend on high until smooth and creamy.

3. Pour the mixture into a chilled glass.

4. Garnish with a pineapple slice and a maraschino cherry, if desired.

When I find myself needing an extra dose of mojo in the am, this go-to recipe always makes me smile. Filled to the brim with silky peanut butter, ripe bananas and almond milk, this delicious smoothie will please any peanut butter lover.

Ingredients

  • 1 large banana, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 ounces peanut butter whiskey
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ice cubes

 Instructions

1. Place the sliced banana into a blender.

2. Pour in the milk, peanut butter, peanut butter whiskey, and honey or maple syrup (if using).

3. Add the vanilla extract and ice cubes to the blender.

4. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

5. Pour the smoothie into a glass.

Ingredients

2 oz Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey
1 oz chocolate liqueur
1 oz crème de cacao
1 oz half-and-half or heavy cream
Ice
Chocolate syrup (for garnish)
Crushed peanuts (for garnish)
Mini peanut butter cup (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Put chocolate syrup in martini glass, swirl around to coat inside, then dip rim in crushed peanuts.

2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.

3. Add Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey, chocolate liqueur, crème de cacao, and half-and-half.

4. Shake well until the mixture is chilled.

5. Strain the mixture into the prepared martini glass.

6. Garnish the rim with a mini peanut butter cup, or float it on top. Sip immediately.
