I recently stumbled across this Steak Bites with Garlic Butter recipe and gotta say it really surprised me. I was looking to impress my friends with a killer appetizer and this dish totally delivered.

I started out by slicing 1 lb sirloin steak into bite-size pieces and coated them with 2 tbsp olive oil. After seasoning with salt and freshly ground black pepper, I added 4 minced cloves of garlic and let that sizzle.

Once it was nearly done, I tossed in 3 tbsp unsalted butter to create that unforgettable garlic butter sauce and finished it off with 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley. I’ve always been a fan of beef recipes for dinner and this one sits right along with some of the best steak dinner recipes I’ve tried.

FAQ

Steak Bites With Garlic Butter Recipe Substitutions and Variations

  • Steak: You can substitute sirloin with ribeye or flank steak. Both provide a rich flavor and tender bite.
  • Olive Oil: If olive oil isn’t available, you can use avocado oil or vegetable oil instead. They work just as well for cooking.
  • Salt: Instead of regular salt, kosher salt or sea salt can be used. They add a little extra brightness to your dish.
  • Unsalted Butter: If you dont have unsalted butter, you can use salted butter or even ghee to achieve that rich buttery taste.
  • Fresh Parsley: In place of parsley, try using basil or cilantro. Both can give your dish a fresh finish.

Pro Tips

1. Let your steak come to room temp for like 15-20 minutes before you cook it coz it helps to get a more even sear and prevents your meat from being tough.
2. If you can, try not to overcrowd the pan even more than the recipe mentions so you can get that crispy crust instead of steaming the meat.
3. Keep a close eye on the garlic in the butter coz it cooks real quick and can burn, which makes the whole dish taste bitter.
4. Experiment with a tiny pinch of red pepper or even a bit more salt after cooking if you feel like it to give your dish a little extra kick without taking over the flavors.
