Struck by the excitement of game day? Then spread some of the snacks that keep everyone shoving towards the goal of good times and great taste.

Here are my 17 must-try Game Day Snacks. I’m starting with Buffalo Cauliflower Bites from Game Day, where the zing of buffalo sauce meets crispy baked cauliflower.

Then, I transformed the traditional dish into something new and exciting by making my Game Day Avocado Deviled Eggs. They put a creamy, fresh spin on the classic recipe.

Bacon-wrapped onion rings are the ideal food for bacon lovers on game day. They’re not just the right kind of crispy; they’re the right kind of smoky.

And the best thing about them is that you can eat and watch at the same time because they are so easy to eat. My sweet potato nachos are a delightful mixture of sweet and spicy.

I top them with jalapeños and a melted cheese blend. Chickpeas are another ingredient I love to use, as in my Game Day Spicy Chickpea Poppers, where a sprinkle of cayenne provides the heat.

My menu showcases even more enticing tastes, like Wonton Jalapeño Popper for Game Day and Pretzel Bites Beer Cheese for Game Day. Make it delicious this game day!

When it comes to Game Day, I can’t get enough of these coconut-dusted shrimp.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

1. A station for breading should be established with three distinct bowls set in line from left to right: the first bowl contains a mixture of flour and salt, the second contains beaten eggs, and the third contains a blend of panko breadcrumbs and shredded coconut husk.

2. Coat each shrimp in the following manner: First, dredge it in flour. Then, dip it in egg. Finally, coat it in our coconut mixture. Repeat until all the shrimp are coated and ready to fry.

12. Game Day Fried Pickles

12. Game Day Fried Pickles

In my opinion, Game Day Fried Pickles are the most excellent Game Day Snacks. They start with dill pickle slices, which are coated in a zesty mixture of flour, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne, along with buttermilk (or, in some cases, just good ol’ Southern cornmeal).

Then they are fried.

Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup buttermilk
1 jar dill pickle slices
Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

1. In a bowl of medium size, combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.

2. Place the buttermilk in a bowl. Into it, immerse the pickle slices, allowing them to soak. Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Bathe the slices in buttermilk, dredge them in the combined dry ingredients, and let the slices rest.

3. In a deep pan or skillet, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C). The coated pickles are added to the heated oil in batches very carefully. They are fried until they attain a golden-brown color and crispy texture, which takes about 2-3 minutes on each side.

4. Take out the pickles using a slotted spoon and allow them to drain on paper towels. These guys are best served as soon as they are done—alongside your favorite dipping sauce.

13. Game Day Chorizo-Stuffed Dates

13. Game Day Chorizo-Stuffed Dates

2. In a bowl, combine the chorizo and the cream cheese until well mixed.

3. Fill each date with a spoonful of the chorizo mixture, and add some chopped almonds for crunch.

4. Take a half slice of bacon and wrap it around each stuffed date, securing the bacon with a toothpick. Layout the prepared dates on a baking sheet.

14. Game Day Zucchini Fritters

14. Game Day Zucchini Fritters

For Game Day Snacks, I adore whipping up Zucchini Fritters. This crispy delight combines grated zucchini, Parmesan cheese, and garlic, providing a savory and nutritious twist on the pregame snack that’s just my speed.

That is, it’s easy enough to prepare that I’m not getting totally bogged down in the kitchen right before kickoff.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium zucchinis, grated
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg, beaten

2. In a sizeable mixing bowl, mix the following together until well combined: zucchini, flour, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper.

3. Olive oil should be heated in a large skillet over a medium flame. Tablespoonfuls of the mixture should be scooped out and placed in the skillet, where the mixture should be flattened slightly with a spatula. The cakes should cook until golden brown on both sides, which should take about 2 to 3 minutes per side.

4. Transfer from skillet to a plate lined with paper towels. Serve immediately and enjoy this delicious beet dish.

15. Game Day Beer Cheese Pretzel Bites

15. Game Day Beer Cheese Pretzel Bites

Game Day Snacks are incredible, especially when they are Beer Cheese Pretzel Bites. These bites—a little doughy, a little cheesy, and a little malty—might just be the perfect snack for any gathering where lots of guys (or gals) are sitting around and watching a large television.

I could eat a dozen. But I can’t, because they’re so rich and filling.

Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1/4 cup baking soda

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup beer

2. Warm water is used to dissolve the baking soda. Each dough square is dipped in the solution and then placed on a baking sheet.

3. In a small saucepan, warm the beer, and gradually mix in the cheese until melted. Spoon some of the cheese sauce onto each of the dough squares.

4. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with coarse salt. Serve warm.

16. Game Day Black Bean and Corn Salsa

16. Game Day Black Bean and Corn Salsa

Game Day Black Bean and Corn Salsa is a perfect Game Day Snack. It is zesty, with mixes of black beans, corn kernels, red bell pepper, and fresh cilantro.

You get vibrant flavors in every bite, which is why it, quite simply, is a winning Game Day Snack.

Ingredients

1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup corn kernels (fresh, canned, or frozen)
1 medium red bell pepper, diced
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
1 lime, juiced
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the black beans, corn, bell pepper, red onion, and cilantro.

2. Juice one lime over the mixture and stir to combine with the gentle touch of a spoon.

3. Sprinkle salt and pepper to your liking, and adjust the seasonings as necessary.

4. Immediately serve with tortilla chips or allow to chill in the refrigerator for an hour to amplify the flavor.

17. Game Day Ranch Pretzel Bites

17. Game Day Ranch Pretzel Bites

The Pretzel Bites are the perfect snack for game day. They require minimal effort to put together and use readily available ingredients.

I like to use refrigerated biscuit dough to pull these bites together, but the real flavor comes from ranch seasoning mix and melted butter.

Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 5 cups water
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
  • Coarse salt, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

1. Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) before you begin. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, so the bread does not stick to the pan.

2. From the dough package, cut each biscuit into four parts; roll each part into a ball.

3. In a big saucepan, bring 5 cups of water to a full boil. Add the baking soda and reduce the heat a little. Let the water with baking soda in it come back to a very gentle boil, then boil the dough balls for about 30 seconds. Remove the boiled dough balls with a slotted spoon and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

4. The boiled dough balls should be brushed with melted butter and then sprinkled with ranch seasoning mix and coarse salt. They should then be baked in the preheated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. After removing them from the oven, the dough balls could be garnished with chopped parsley and served warm.
