I like to start of my day with a drink that is quick, simple, and oh-so-refreshing. It’s a way to solidly boost my metabolism and make sure I’m sipping enough water so that dehydration doesn’t catch up with me.

Lemons are chock-full of vitamin C and antioxidants; ginger is famous for battling inflammation; and cucumber is an underappreciated awesome ingredient for detoxing and digestive health. There’s something awesome about the taste of these four ingredients together, and this drink is a good way to start the day.

But there are plenty more I explore below! Join me on the best drinks to detox!

The 15 Best Detox drinks

1. Lemon Ginger Detox

1. Lemon Ginger Detox

I consider the Lemon Ginger Detox an exhilarating drink, perfect for a quick wellness boost. Its three basic ingredients—lemon, ginger, and water—provide the perfect simplicity that makes this drink shine.

I happen to know that I am not alone in enjoying this drink for its possible post-party cleansing properties. Some people may add honey (which I wouldn’t mind) or cayenne pepper !

Ingredients

1 fresh lemon
1 small piece of fresh ginger (about 1-2 inches)
2 cups of water
1 tablespoon honey (optional)
Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

1. Remove the skin and slice the ginger into thin pieces.

2. In a tiny saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

3. Put the sliced ginger into the rapidly boiling water and allow it to simmer for about five minutes.

4. Take the pot off the burner and allow the water, infused with ginger, to cool a little.

5. Extract the juice from a single lemon, and into it, add a dish of warm ginger water.

6. If you want extra flavor, mix in some honey and a pinch of cayenne pepper.

7. Pour the mixture into a cup or mason jar through a strainer. It’s best warm, but you can also enjoy it chilled.

2. Green Tea Detox

2. Green Tea Detox

I like to create a refreshing and calming green tea detox that is made with just a few simple, straightforward ingredients. This enlivening brew consists of a green tea bag, fresh lemon juice, grated ginger, and if I choose, a touch of honey and mint.

1 cup of hot water
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon honey (optional)
1/4 teaspoon grated ginger
A few fresh mint leaves (optional)

2. Place the green tea bag in a mug and allow it to steep for approximately 3 to 5 minutes.

3. Take out the teabag and mix in one tablespoon of fresh lemon juice.

4. Combine the grated ginger and honey until well mixed. You can adjust the amount of honey to your preference, whether you want it sweeter or less sweet.

5. If you wish, you can add several fresh mint leaves for additional flavor.

6. Enjoy your cleansing green tea while it’s still warm.

3. Cucumber Mint Detox

3. Cucumber Mint Detox

I really enjoy how merely blending cucumber, lemon, and fresh mint can create such a detox drink.

It’s easy to make, very low in calories, and even a little bit healthy. This is right up my alley as I often crave hydrating, infused beverages that feel like such a treat at any time of day.

Ingredients

1 cucumber
1 lemon
10-12 fresh mint leaves
2 liters of water
Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

1. Rinse the cucumber, lemon, and mint leaves well.

2. Slice the cucumber and lemon into thin rounds.

3. Add the cucumber slices, lemon slices, and mint leaves to a large pitcher.

4. Pour 2 liters of water over the ingredients in the pitcher.

5. For a minimum of 1-2 hours, let the flavors blend in the refrigerator.

6. You may serve your invigorating detox drink over ice or enjoy it without. Either way, it’s a splendidly hydrating and energizing elixir.

4. Apple Cider Vinegar Detox

4. Apple Cider Vinegar Detox

I believe that the apple cider vinegar detox is a wonderful way to detox and one that I used on a regular basis. The process of combining the tangy flavor of the vinegar with fresh lemon juice, raw honey, and warm water turns this beverage into something that many people find electrifying.

I often added cinnamon and cayenne pepper to mine—two ingredients that not only bump up the detox factor but also warm the drink nicely.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

1. Put the apple cider vinegar and lemon juice together in a glass or cup.

2. Stir the raw honey into the mixture so that it fully dissolves and integrates into the totality of the mixture.

3. Pour the warm water into the mixture and stir it until everything is well mixed.

4. If you wish, you can also add ground cinnamon and cayenne pepper to give it more flavor, and then stir it again.

5. Allow the concoction to rest for a minute or two, and then give it a final quick blend. It is now ready for consumption.

6. For the best benefits, drink it down right away.

5. Turmeric Detox Drink

5. Turmeric Detox Drink

I make a detox drink using turmeric. I get ground turmeric, ground ginger, and some fresh lemons, and then I prepare a warm morning drink that I really enjoy.

It’s a combination of the warm, slightly spicy, and sweet flavors of the turmeric and ginger, plus the deliciously tangy, bright flavor and cleansing benefits of fresh lemon juice. It’s a potent drink, but perfect for sipping as a part of a daily ritual to start my day on a healthful note.

Ingredients

1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
2 cups warm water

Instructions

1. Start by heating the water. It needs to be warm, not hot, to make sure the nutrients in the ingredients are preserved.

2. Combine the ground turmeric, ground ginger, and cayenne pepper, if using, in a mug or cup.

3. Pour the lemon juice into the mix and stir it well, ensuring that the spices blend evenly into the juice.

4. Add the warm water to the mixture and stir until everything is dissolved.

5. Add honey or maple syrup to the drink and stir until everything is well combined.

6. The beverage is best consumed as a warm elixir first thing in the morning and not long after sleep’s restorative effects have ended.

6. Cranberry Detox

6. Cranberry Detox

Cranberry Detox is a delightful mix that captures the natural strength of cranberry juice, lemon, and ginger. This combination creates an effect that I find uplifting—especially with the not-too-likely-for-most addition of honey and cayenne, which makes the drink slightly sweet and a little spicy.

It is a drink that is easy to make and cools and reinvigorates in equal measure.

Ingredients

Cranberry juice (100% pure, unsweetened)
Fresh lemon juice
Freshly grated ginger

3. Take a small piece of ginger, about 1 teaspoon, and grate it. Add it to the pitcher.

4. Dilute the mixture by adding 2 cups of water.

5. For those who like their drinks sweet, consider adding 1 to 2 teaspoons of raw honey or maple syrup. Stir in the amount that suits your taste.

6. To give it an additional push, add cayenne pepper and stir it well. Serve it ice-cold or over ice.

8. Charcoal Lemonade Detox

Uncover a delightful detox beverage that utilizes activated charcoal powder and the sharp, refreshing flavor of fresh lemon juice. I love how simple this detox drink is, and how it has not one, but two, potential detox benefits: the activated charcoal and the lemon juice.

1 cup fresh orange juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon honey (optional)

11. Pineapple Coconut Detox

11. Pineapple Coconut Detox

The detox drink that I have come to really appreciate is a combination of tropical flavors. Pineapple and coconut water may well be the best duo since gin met tonic.

But this drink also has a few other charming and healthful bits going for it. Lemon juice, grated ginger, and chia seeds join the party.

Chia seeds add a delightful texture and nearly make this a smoothie.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

5. Serve right away and savor your revitalizing Pineapple Coconut Detox beverage.

12. Beetroot Detox Juice

12. Beetroot Detox Juice

Beetroot (1 large, peeled and chopped)

13. Chia Seed Detox Water

13. Chia Seed Detox Water

I am on a quest to find uncomplicated yet rejuvenating detox beverages. During this quest, I unearthed a seemingly simple but oh-so-delicious blend of lemon juice and chia seeds.

When mixed, these two ingredients create what can only be described as a nutrient-dense, refreshing slushie. The chia seeds give it a thick, almost creamy texture.

You could drink this detox drink and, at the same time, feel good about what you’re doing for your body.

Ingredients

1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 cup water
Juice of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup (optional)
Mint leaves (optional)
Ice cubes (optional)

1. Begin with putting 1 tablespoon of chia seeds in a jar or glass.

2. Mix the chia seeds with 1 cup of water and stir well to keep them from clumping together.

3. Allow the mixture to sit for approximately 10-15 minutes so that the chia seeds can swell and take in the water.

4. After the chia seeds have been soaked, incorporate the juice of one lemon into the mixture.

5. If you like a little sweetness, you can add 1 teaspoon of honey or agave syrup. Then combine all the ingredients and stir well.

6. If desired, you can include several mint leaves and some ice cubes for an extra kick of flavor and freshness. Make sure to mix thoroughly before consuming.

14. Cinnamon Detox Drink

14. Cinnamon Detox Drink

I love how this cinnamon detox drink captures simplicity and has such a wonderful, refreshing quality. It’s a combination of sorts that brings together the warmth of cinnamon, the sweetness of honey, and the delightful, almost fizzy, nature of lemon juice.

Each one of them plays a key role in making this drink what it is: an effective way to support your body’s elimination processes. (Yes, there’s a good reason for that.) And there’s an optional boost, too.

Ingredients

1 cup of water
1 cinnamon stick or 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon of honey
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

1. In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a gentle simmer.

2. Add a cinnamon stick or ground cinnamon to the water and steep it for about 5 to 10 minutes.

3. Take the water off of the heat and allow it to cool a little.

4. In the previous instruction, we mentioned adding honey and stirring until it is fully dissolved in the cinnamon water.

5. Add the lemon juice and, if you like, a dash of cayenne pepper for a little more oomph.

15. Orange Carrot Detox Juice

15. Orange Carrot Detox Juice

There’s nothing quite like beginning my day with a heavy rush of invigorating, fresh-to-hand juice. This particular morning elixir is the offspring of sweet, sun-ripened carrots and effervescent oranges, with a whisper of fresh ginger for depth and a judicious splash of lemon.

This is not just juice; it is a revitalizing potion that offers the promise of pure energy and a near-immediate detox.

Ingredients

4 large carrots, peeled and chopped
2 oranges, peeled and segmented
1 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 cup water
Ice cubes (optional)

Instructions

1. Peel the carrots and chop them into smaller, more manageable pieces.

2. When you have done the peeling and seed removal, divide the oranges into sections.

3. Remove the skin from a piece of fresh ginger that is 1 inch long.

4. The carrots, oranges, ginger, lemon juice, and water go into a blender. They blend until smooth.

5. If you want to rid the juice of any pulp, pour it through a fine-mesh sieve or nut milk bag into a pitcher.

6. For a rejuvenating detox drink, serve it straight over ice. And enjoy!
