Burger King Sauces go way beyond just Ketchup and Mayonnaise.
My Burger King Sauce list includes BBQ, Honey Mustard, Ranch, Sweet and Sour Sauce, Buffalo Sauce, Zesty Sauce and yes I had to include Ketchup.
I have tasted each Sauce so you don’t have to! I also provided pairing recommendations as well as Nutrition values. Let’s go!
The Ultimate Burger King Sauces List
Burger King has numerous dipping sauces that can enhance the taste of your meals. From a smoky barbecue sauce to a sweet honey mustard, there is something for every taste bud.
Let us get into it and talk about these flavorsome Burger King Sauces, all ranked in order of taste! (In my opinion anyway!)
1. BBQ Sauce
Ranked at the top is the Barbecue sauce (BBQ), which I love as I prefer a smoky sweet flavor on my fast food.
It is noted particularly for its rich flavor with hints of tanginess that brings out taste in grilled meat. With its thick consistency and an immense flavor, it takes the leading place in rankings because I think it goes with everything.
Onion rings are always a good choice when using this sauce!
Also I think the consistency is perfect – it is thick enough to stick anything you dip in but not that thick as to overpower food.
Pair with: Chicken Nuggets, Onion Rings, and Whopper
Why: The smoky, sweet, and tangy flavors of the BBQ sauce complement the crispy texture of chicken nuggets and onion rings. Adding it to a Whopper enhances the grilled flavor of the beef patty.
2. Honey Mustard Sauce
Coming second on the list is Burger king’s Honey Mustard Sauce due to its perfect combination between sweetness and sharpness.
I think you can’t go wrong and I love it with the chicken items on the menu such as nuggets or a crispy chicken sandwich, yum!
Creamy texture combined with unique savoring make this mild dip a favorite among customers.
Pair with: Chicken Fries, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and French Fries
Why: The sweet and tangy profile of the honey mustard sauce pairs perfectly with the mild flavors of chicken fries and grilled chicken sandwiches. It also adds a delicious twist to regular French fries.
3. Ranch Sauce
Ranch sauce takes third place mainly because it has a creamy herb taste. It’s a versatile sauce that can be eaten with fries, burgers and other foods.
Its appeal lies in the fact that it adds an extra flavor to salads and sandwiches, thus preferred by all those who love savory and smooth sauces.
Pair with: Onion Rings, Garden Salad, and Chicken Nuggets
Why: The creamy and tangy ranch sauce balances the savory and slightly salty taste of onion rings and chicken nuggets. It also works well as a salad dressing, adding a rich flavor to the garden salad.
4. Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce
At number four, the Sweet & Sour Sauce is famous for its unusual mixture of sweet and sour tastes.
People who like fried food at Burger king usually go for this tangy dip because of its acidity which gives their meal some contrast.
Its bright color together with heavy texture makes it visually appealing while its flavor just adds a twist to any dish.
Pair with: Chicken Nuggets, Onion Rings, and French Fries
Why: The sweet and tangy notes of the sweet and sour sauce make it a great dipping sauce for chicken nuggets and onion rings. Its balanced flavor also complements the saltiness of French fries.
5. Buffalo Sauce
The buffalo sauce is near the bottom; it is mostly loved by people who enjoy a spicy seasoning on their meals.
It has a a hotter taste than other sauces (although not hot enough in my opinion) that works pretty well with chicken nuggets or French fries.
Even though not everyone may choose it as their favorite sauce in terms of spice, there are many followers of hot foods therefore this factor provides for its place in rankings.
It should be noted in researching other opinions many complain it isn’t quite hot enough, and it was recently reformulated. There is quite a bit of hate on this reddit thread :
“Not only did bk rebrand the buffalo sauce(which i could care less), they frickin reformulated it too. ITS SO FRICKING DISGUSTING. I dont understand why they had to go and change it. It was fine the way it was. Idk how whoever the hell approved it went like “ok yeah this crap is edible”. BK, please bring the old formulated buffalo sauce back not this disguting sad of an excuse substance. If you guys can gladly smile after a bite with that disgusting sauce then im brining my loyalty over to Jack in the Box, and im sure your loyal buffalo sauce loving customers will bring their loyalty elsewhere.”
Pair with: Chicken Nuggets, Fries, and Chicken Sandwich
Why: The spicy and tangy flavor of the buffalo sauce is ideal for adding a kick to chicken nuggets and fries. It also enhances the flavor of a chicken sandwich, providing a nice contrast to the crispy chicken fillet.
6. Zesty Sauce
Burger King’s zesty dipping sauce is a choice for those who enjoy a hint of smokiness and spices.
It is meant to appeal to individuals looking for spicier and stronger sauces compared to others on the menu by having a distinct flavor profile from other sauces available at fast food chains.
I find it a bit pungent and sharp hence the low placing in the rankings…
Pair with: Onion Rings, Whopper, and Fries
Why: The creamy, spicy, and slightly tangy zesty sauce pairs exceptionally well with onion rings, adding a robust flavor. It also works great on a Whopper and French fries, providing a unique taste experience.
7. Ketchup
No list of Burger King sauces would be complete without mentioning ketchup. This classic condiment is a staple for many Burger King fans.
It pairs well with burgers, chicken sandwiches, and fries, adding a familiar flavor. Whether you prefer it mild or spicy, ketchup is a go-to sauce at Burger King.
I put it last as it’s Heinz Ketchup, probably the most well known sauce out there! But doesn’t add much excitement hence bottom of the list.
