High protein bento box

Bento box for work lunch

When you want lunch that will fill you up and is nutritious, go for a high protein bento box. It contains different sources of proteins that will keep your body active throughout the day. This complete meal can be eaten anywhere.

The ability to change is what sets apart a bento box from other meals. There are many ways to make it depending on what you prefer or if you have any dietary needs. You will never get bored with lunch as there will always be new flavors, textures, and colors that come along with each bite making the whole experience healthy and enjoyable.

1. Grilled Chicken Skewers

Your bento box can have grilled chicken skewers which are not only lean but also delicious. Marinate them with spices of your choice then grill until fully cooked.

2. Quinoa Salad

For vegetarians who would still like some plant-based protein in their diet, quinoa salad is perfect. Cooked quinoa mixed with cherry tomatoes, cucumber and bell peppers makes it more colorful and interesting. A light dressing enhances its taste even further.

3. Hard-Boiled Eggs

Another cheap source of protein is eggs especially good when hard-boiled. After boiling, you can add salt and pepper before peeling them off ready for packing into the box.

4. Edamame

In addition to proteins alone, edamame pods are rich in fiber as well as important nutrients needed by our bodies daily. To prepare simply boil or steam until tender then serve cold or hot alongside you other foods.

5. Greek Yogurt with Berries

To give creaminess plus extra proteins to your bento box; consider adding small portions of Greek yogurt accompanied by fresh berries.

Chicken salad

Chicken salad in a box for a work lunch

Chicken salad is an easy and delicious lunch option. You can take it to work as a quick and healthy meal or have it for lunch somewhere else as a filling dish. Additionally, this kind of salad can use up leftover chicken that would otherwise go to waste.

Making chicken salad doesn’t require much effort. You may choose the traditional recipe or decide on a light recipe with fewer calories.

In my recipes I like to go for something wholesome yet flavorful at the same time. It involves using soft chicken, crispy vegetables and tangy dressing. Packed with proteins and spices this serves as an excellent option for lunch.

Start by cooking some skinless boneless breasts until they become tender then let them cool down before shredding into pieces . Mix Greek yogurt with Dijon mustard, lemon juice, herbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder until it becomes a creamy sauce-like consistency.

Combine the shredded chicken with the sauce folding them together gently so that each ingredient gets coated evenly throughout; add in diced celery, almonds, cranberries, mixing well.

Let sit in the fridge for an hour at least and all the flavors will blend together nicely.

Apple and PBJ

Do you desire a meal that is both tasty and healthy? An apple and PBJ sandwich would be great. It brings in an interesting twist to the classic peanut butter and jelly recipe, which involves adding some slices of apple. These flavors mixed together make for a very fulfilling, energy-packed meal.

It’s not just an awesome sandwich; rather, it’s also a nutritional powerhouse. For example, apples are rich in dietary fiber, vitamin C and antioxidants while peanuts have proteins and good fats among other nutrients; hence combining the two ensures that you get full without starving or feeling unsatisfied.

Boost the flavors with fresh lettuce, red tomatoes and Parmesan cheese; otherwise, add jalapenos or hot sauce to give it that extra spice.

Wrap your sandwich either in foil or a container to keep it fresh. Great for an office day or just a busy day out.

Why Is Lunch Important?

Lunch is often overshadowed by breakfast and dinner when we discuss healthy eating. Nevertheless, it stands as a critical meal in our daily lives. It significantly influences our well-being and work performance.

This is a very important meal that gives energy to the body and keeps you going for the rest of the work day.

It’s also vital to have balanced lunch so as to avoid sudden decrease in energy level during afternoons. It reinvigorates us and maintains strength for better productivity through out the day.

Consuming nutritious foods during lunchtime improves our cognitive faculties. Nutrients like proteins and healthy fat enhance attention. This will lead to a stronger mind that supports better concentration resulting in improved job performance.

Why slow release Carbohydrates are important for a work Lunch

Have you ever had fast food for lunch at work and experienced the dreaded post lunch crash? The foods you choose to eat while at work can have a huge impact on your energy levels. It is important therefore, that your lunch contains slow release carbohydrates. This kind of carbohydrate takes quite a while to digest allowing for the steady supply of energy, versus the fast burn from high sugar/simple carb meals.

Slow-release carbs are low glycemic index foods meaning they do not cause sudden sugar level spikes. The glucose enters your bloodstream slowly when the glycemic index of food products is low. This means consistent energy.

Slow-releasing carbohydrates are best found in whole grains like whole-wheat breads and brown rice. Such meals help to make lunches both powered and filling.

Why a good breakfast is the key to a good work lunch

Breakfast is the MVP for the day and this is not just in name. It fuels us up, keeps us active and sets the body up for the day.

A balanced breakfast supplies our body’s needs. This makes our metabolism to come alive, glucose to get balanced and blood sugar to stabilize. As a result, we become more focused, alert and competent at problem-solving solutions.

Good morning nutrition prevents mid-morning energy crashes. No yearning for unhealthy snacks anymore. We remain energized; hence no afternoon slumps that harm productivity.

For instance, making sure you have a balanced breakfast also means smarter lunch choices. Having a well-fed body makes it far easier to make healthy meal choices at lunch that supply us with nourishment throughout the day.

Container recommendations

Choosing the right containers for your work lunches is key. It’s not just about keeping your food fresh and secure. You also need something convenient to carry. Let me give you some tips on the best containers for your meals.

Bento Box Containers

Bento boxes are ideal for work lunches. With their separate compartments, you can pack various foods without mixing flavors. This makes it easy to have a well-rounded meal. They’re often made from durable, safe materials too, like BPA-free plastics.

Portable Lunch Containers

For those constantly on the move, portable lunch containers are perfect. Opt for those with secure, leak-proof lids. It’s also helpful if they include handles or a carrying bag for easy transportation.

Meal Prep Containers

Prepping meals in advance is simplified with meal prep containers. They come in different sizes, allowing for efficient storage in your fridge or freezer. These containers are great for portion control, ensuring you can easily grab your meal and leave in the morning.

Choose options that are safe for both the microwave and dishwasher to make life simpler.
